Application and Fellowship Dates and Information

The Jane Coffin Childs Fund has a new online application. All former downloaded guidelines, including the 2024 guidelines and any former instructions outside of the new application portal should not be followed. All instructions to apply, with digital guides, can be found in the Temelio application portal.

From the application portal, the applicant will invite the appropriate contacts to receive an email with a link to upload the referee letters and sponsor letter and will receive a link to complete an online form for the Department Chair and Fiscal Officer. When a referee, sponsor or Department Chair or Contract/Financial Officer receives their email invite, please make sure that to register, they click “Don’t have an account? “Sign Up” that can be found under the big blue button. They will not be able to enter the site if they do not click “Sign up” when they first register into the site.  Once they click “Sign Up”, It is very important that the contacts who receive the emailed link use THE SAME email that the applicant used to send their email in the Temelio site to register. They can then supply a password of their choice.

Three referee letters are required from qualified individuals, other than the applicant’s Sponsor, who can evaluate the applicant’s qualifications for the proposed research project and assess the applicant’s potential for successful independent biomedical research. For applicants with a Ph.D., the first referee letter should preferably come from the applicant’s thesis advisor.  All referees must register in the Temelio site so that the information sent can be stored confidentially.

One sponsor letter is required, indicating that the proposed postdoctoral sponsor has accepted the applicant into the laboratory and outlining the plans for the fellowship and training environment.  All sponsors must register in the Temelio site so that the information sent can be stored confidentially. If the applicant will also have a co-sponsor, directions on how the primary sponsor can submit the co-sponsor’s required information is included once the primary sponsor registers and is in the system.

Two signatures are required that verify that the Department Chair and grant and contract/financial officer at the sponsoring institute are aware of the applicant’s submission to the Jane Coffin Childs Fund and are aware of the terms of the award as outlined on www.jccfund.org. If the applicant is awarded as a JCC Fellow, the award notification letter will be sent to the institutional contacts as noted.

There is no administrative access to the online application. All access to the application is through the applicant, who may download a copy of their submitted file for administrative purposes.
